Point-to-Multipoint  |
These networks are the basis for mesh networks, without the ability to hop (they require direct communication between origin and destination). They are comparatively faster, with lower latency and less design complexity, than mesh networks. Application: Fleet Mananegement and Location Tracking Sensors deployed throughout the tractor-trailer are network-enabled using ZigBee technology. A peer-to-peer mesh protocol optimized for power-sensitive applications. A single-node architecture enables advanced functionality such as sleeping routers while increasing network redundancy and simplifying development and scalability.
