Introduction
Industrial Ethernet switchis now used as the communication backbone
for monitoring systems used in oil exploration. Digital video surveillance and remote I/O are considered vital for monitoring of pipeline pressure and flow conditions, and ensure effective communication with the central SCADA system. The entire station data is routed from individual pump rooms either through the fiber Ethernet ring backbone or through an industrial wireless access point/ routeer
to a central station.
